The post of Assistant Organist is particularly difficult to trace, as it was only included in the choral foundation in the most recent edition of the statutes. Historically it has often been combined with the job of Director of Music at the Cathedral School, so the Cathedral's records do not necessarily contain any details about the appointment, or resignation of people to the post. However, by using references to the Assistant Organists at various times in various sources, it has been possible to compile the following list.
